The last Saturday before Christmas is always a busy one, and this year was no exception. It’s not easy being in four places at once, and it’s even harder to drive through thick snow and ice to be there! But it was worth it! The fun casino in Southampton was a rip-roaring success, with over 300 guests in attendance, and the most beautiful venue I have ever had the pleasure of working in, and an atmosphere to rival even the busiest Las Vegas Casino, the night was absoolutely brilliant.

Over at the fun casino in Bournemouth, things were just as crazy and equally as much fun. The Las Vegas theme party was great fun, and the roulette table and blackjack table leant an air of authenticity to the whole night.

I don’t know about you, but we woke up this morning to a good 6 inches of snow outside! It’s so beautiful to look at, but not so beautiful to work in!

It took us over half an our to de-snow the van and get it out of the drive in the morning. I thought, to be safe, we’d go and set the tables up at our event nice and early in the afternoon so that there was no worry about traffic problems (as there always is when it snows this much in the South of England) and our hosts tonight would have one less thing to worry about.

As it turned out, it wasn’t a problem on the roads at all. Everyone was taking things a bit slowly to be careful, but it wasn’t the mayhem and madness that it was back in February (when my partner managed to spin his car 360 degrees on the M25 10-15 times before he could make it to the nearest junction and try to turn back!)

I confess, I love the snow like a 5 year old. All I kept thinking about when I was out setting up for tonight, was how much I wanted to get back home and make snow angels. Does that make me an idiot? If it does, I can’t help it! I love Christmas, and I love the snow. I wish I’d put a little bet on at the bookies for a White Christmas now. Oh well, I’ll have to console myself by drinking a glass of mulled wine and making a great big snowman in my back garden. (His name is Eric by the way.)

Yesterday, Harlequin Fun Casino had the pleasure of entertaining guests at a wedding reception in Sevenoaks. It was a Christmas themed wedding, and it was absolutely beautiful. The casino was a real hit with the guests, and we started dealing when the first guests arrived from the ceremony. It was a great way to bridge the gap whilst the Bride and Groom had their photographs taken and whilst everyone was mingling before they all sat down to eat.

Well, since it’s Christmas, I decided to have my own little Christmas party and invite all my friends to play on the Blackjack table which I set up in my living room for the night. It was nice to get the chance to play myself, as usually, I watch others play but don’t get the opportunity to play myself. I must say, I was rather impressed with my own performance. I turned £30 into £2,700 in about three hours. At one point, I had £3,100, but I carried on playing and lost over a grand! It makes me realise just why Harlequin gets so many requests for Blackjack tables. What an addictive game! It’s great to be able to play without the worry of losing all that money. I think if I had been playing with real cash, I would have quit while I was ahead at about £300. It also goes to show that you can only really make big bucks on the Blackjack table when you can afford to lose big.

Well, I know what I’ll be doing with my birthday money this year…especially since the flight to Vegas is already booked for the day after! Now watch me lose the lot!
